Since joining SSRS in 2009 after
graduating from the University
of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in
Economics, International Relations
and Hispanic Studies, Luis' responsibilities
have included questionnaire
development, data analysis,
report writing and project
execution. At U.Penn Luis served
as Vice-President of 'Sigma Iota
Rho', National Honor Society for
International Studies; worked
as research analyst for a major
international statistical research
project, 'Universities as Sites
of Citizenship'; proactively participated in several community service
organizations; took leadership
roles; was recognized at the
Commencement ceremonies
and obtained several grants
including one from Penn President,
Amy Gutmann. He lived in
Ecuador before attending college
in the U.S. During that time,
he had the opportunity to work with
the Mayor of Quito, Ecuador, in a
variety of public health,
educational, and city development
projects. Luis enjoys dancing,
reading, practicing sports, attending
classical and contemporary concerts
and plays, but above all, he seeks
intellectual and spiritual growth
in order to be able to contribute
to society in a direct and tangible way.
