Jewish Research Population: With its highly complex sampling methodology, the 2002 New York Jewish population survey is typical of most Jewish population studies we do. In this case, the sample was stratified to each borough of the greater New York metro area and, within each borough, split into the typical substrata of federation-listed, distinctive Jewish surname, listed RDD, and unlisted RDD samples. The study was offered in English, Yiddish, Hebrew, Russian, and Spanish. ICR has conducted similar studies in San Diego, Washington, DC, Pittsburgh, Phoenix, Denver, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Cincinnati, and other major U.S. cities.

Hillel Students: The Hillel student survey epitomizes our ability to maximize data quality, even when there are significant budgetary constraints. In this case, SSRS drew sample from lists of Hillel members and American Student List in order to attain a sample of Jewish students as representative as possible while still maintaining a tight budget.
